Continuing the previous post about the Kavanagh Building, I would like to talk more about the Basílica del Santísimo Sacramento (Basilica of the Sacred Sacrament). Edificio Kavanagh

Since its inauguration in 1936, the Kavanagh Building (or Edifício Kavanagh) is considered an icon of modernity in Buenos Aires, a landmark of the cosmopolitan Argentinean architecture. Its story is a bit unusual and there are many details in its construction and architecture that make this building unique. The “Torre de los Ingleses” (Englishmen’s Tower) or “Torre Monumental” (Monumental Tower) was a gift given to the Buenos Aires city by the British immigrants in 1916, due to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the May’s Revolution.
